Welcome to SplitBudget (“we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application (the “App”) and related services. By downloading, accessing, or using SplitBudget, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Description of the Service

SplitBudget is a household budgeting application that allows you to:

• Track income, expenses, and transactions.
• Create and manage personal or shared households.
• View insights and summaries of your financial data.

3. Data Storage & Privacy

1. Local Storage (Non-Shared Households) — If you use SplitBudget for a non-shared household, all your budgeting data is stored locally on your device only. We do not receive, process, or store this data on our servers.
2. Shared Households — If you create or join a shared household, certain data will be stored on our servers so all household members can access and synchronize it. This includes household details, transactions, and user profiles. When a household becomes empty, all related data will be permanently deleted from our servers.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, disrupt or interfere with its operation, submit fraudulent data, or infringe on the rights of others. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for all activities in your account or household.

5. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App, including its content, features, and functionality, are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App except as permitted by law.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends immediately.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App and reflected in the “Last Updated” date above.
